Also known as the man eating shark, it is one of the largest carnivorous fish known for its massive size and powerful aggressiveness. The tail is crescent shaped, the teeth are large and serrated, triangular in shape, large and sharp, making it a top marine predator. They are widely distributed and can be found in tropical to temperate waters. They usually live in open ocean areas but can also enter inland waters. They mainly feed on the carcasses of seals, sea lions, dolphins, and whales, and occasionally attack humans. The sense of smell and touch are extremely sensitive, able to detect the distant smell of blood and the tiny electrical currents generated by muscle contractions, thus locating prey. Due to the decreasing quantity, it has been listed as a world protected variety.
